Weekend Diving in the North Sea

It’s a busy diving weekend for our members. We’re RHIB Valiant out with two
other RHIBS, one from a Pontefract Scuba Club and the other is a BSAC
direct member’s.

We are diving the Chloris on Saturday and the Cadmus on Sunday, launching
from Bridlington both days. Great depth progression dives for our newly
qualified Sports Diver…Me! (Can you tell I’m excited?)

The weather is looking fantastic for it! We’re all very excited to get out
on the RHIBS and dive some fantastic wreck sites.

Safe diving to all.

Weekend Diving

A great time had by our members at Capernwray dive centre on Sunday.

Getting out to sea can’t be beaten but we feel it’s really important that
we work with our Ocean Divers to progress them, so that they can get out
and see more and go on to help our new trainees!

Lots of training completed for some of our soon to be qualified Sports
Divers, Sharon and Danny.

Sam did some of his first lessons as an instructor and it all went really
well.

Jez completed skills towards his Dive Leader.

Linda and Dawn went in to do weight checks and just have a bit of fun.

Our Diving Officer, Jamie, was there to oversee things and do a little
training with others as well as dive. Even his Dad came along for a dip!

Paul, Chris and Martyn joined us up there for a dive too, it was great to
see everyone!

Overall a fantastic day with friends, some great, progressive and fun
diving followed by a beer in the sun! What more could you ask for!

Congratulations are in order!

Doncaster SAC would like to congratulate Sam Millis on becoming an Open
Water Instructor!
Sam has dived with Doncaster SAC since he was 12.

Sam says:
“I joined DSAC at 12 years of age and have been diving for 10 and a half
years. The club members took me under their wing from such a young age and
not only did they make me into the diver I am, they made me into the person
I am today.

I love everything about diving from the fun adventures to the mental
health benefits it provides; which is starting to become a more widespread
issue.

Because of the health benefits and for what the club has done for me over
the years, I decided to show my appreciation and gratitude and become an
instructor to help the club and to help others learn this sport.

Hopefully now, I can carry forward all the great things DSAC did for me
for many more years to come.”

We’re all proud to have another great instructor at the club who has a lot
of experience to offer new divers.
